Director of Business Development (The Big Know)

General Summary:

The Director, Business Development is accountable for spearheading the efforts to identify and build strategic relationships across existing and new verticals to significantly amplify the company’s ability to grow new business.  This individual will serve as the senior sales executive on high value, strategic client leads. This position plays a key adviser role to the President and the leadership team –in helping to devise sales strategies and trainings to maximize sales team impact in all verticals.  Reporting to the President, this role works closely with marketing, account management, operations and various other internal/external partners. Travel will be required up to approximately 50%. Flexible working conditions may include office settings or working remotely.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Works in conjunction with the President, marketing team and other relevant sales positions to evaluate and build strategic opportunities, inclusive of but not limited to the following verticals:
    • Healthcare Payers
    • Health Systems
    • Population Health Companies
    • Corporate Wellness Providers
    • Health & Wellness Aggregators
    • HR Consulting Platform Partners
    • Government Agencies, etc.
  • Serve as senior sales team lead on high value, strategic corporate prospective clients, as defined by executive leadership team
  • Serve as sales subject matter expert for current state business and strategy
  • Interacts and collaborates with key external stakeholders to determine value related strategies and programs
  • Establishes and executes ROI model for client solutions that are in partnership with account team, develops proposals and provide input into pricing for innovative solutions while ensuring scalability
  • Provides thought leadership to fellow team members bridging the gap between strategic partner relationships and successful new client deployments in collaboration with marketing, creates/prepares sales presentations for each specific vertical
  • Develops trusted relationship with team members in order to foster communication ultimately leading to departmental success
  • Contributes to projected strategies, resources and timelines required to verify and alleviate barriers to The Big Know program adoption across all relevant verticals
  • Craft Statements of Work and RFP responses by working cross-functionally as needed
  • Drive and influence process changes with extended partners as needed to drive best possible outcome for our clients and members
  • Manage strategic partnership and sales contracts accordingly
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • 10+ years in a successful, quota measured B2B healthcare sales and/or account management role required
  • Healthcare/Wellness experience required
  • Experience working with C-suite external partners is required
  • Ability to manage multiple, high priority/high visibility projects in an organized and timely fashion
  • Experience with digital products a plus
  • Is passionate about changing lives by ultimately reaching the populations our clients serve with teaching and learning as a key lever
  • Understands how the impact of digital strategies can augment, or even disrupt current industry practices for reaching populations
