East Coast Market Development Manager (Washington DC)

This role is responsible for ensuring we have the right roster of partners, with the right expectations, for GoKart Labs to fulfill our purpose of helping great companies endure. This position is focused on both new account acquisition and existing organic account growth.

We’re looking for someone who already has existing relationships with clients in the eastern US who would be ready to activate or someone who is a lead generation pro who can build a pipeline of new partners quickly. We would love it if you came to us with a strong background in one of our three verticals (Education, Finance, Healthcare), but we are open to other types of related experience (foundation/non-profit, public relations). At its core, this is a business development role with a heavy emphasis on relationship management.

 

What You Will Do

  • Establish key partnerships and alliances with other organizations and identify and evaluate potential targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally in the development of the organization's business plan, strategy, and goals.
  • Manage the identification and pursuit of opportunities that support business strategy and growth.
  • Assess potential initiatives that could lead to long-term growth and increase revenue.
  • Assemble and lead cross-functional pitch teams to present to and win key accounts that align with GoKart Labs’ client roster strategy and revenue goals.
  • Manage the process of negotiating agreements with key partners.
  • Manage the design, development, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's bid and proposal processes.
  • Coordinate schedules and allocate resources across sales, legal, technical, and proposal teams to meet proposal budgets and timelines.
  • Manage and coordinate communication across internal departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a proposal response library, ensuring a consistent and systematic process.

 

What You Are Good At

  • Possess extensive knowledge of the GoKart Labs products and/or services.
  • Proven ability to build authentic, personable and strategic relationships with clients.
  • Ability to find innovative and creative new approaches to business problems in order to attract clients.
  • You have exceptional presentation/pitch skills and are comfortable presenting to executive-level clients and prospects.
  • Ability to analyze the competitive environment. You understand the industries we support, the market and what our prospective and existing clients are looking.
  • You are persuasive. You are able to convince clients of your solutions, working with them to come to an agreeable position, without conceding on key points.
  • You are well versed in setting and managing realistic expectations with clients and internal teams.
  • You are persistent and don’t get thrown off course easily. You can think on your feet and handle the curve balls with confidence and ease and adapt quickly.
  • You are collaborative. You know when to work independently and when to pull in a cross functional team to rally around a potential opportunity.
  • You have exceptional organizational skills with emphasis in priorities and goal setting.

 

What You Have Done

  • You have previous experience in Marketing, Strategic Account Management, Sales, Consulting, Customer Management, Lead Generation, Client Development, Relationship Nurturing.
  • You have experience in a digital or technology agency.
  • Ideally you have experience in one of our core verticals: Education, Financial Services or Healthcare; either directly or indirectly.
  • You have proven experience establishing a growth strategy for new or existing accounts.
